Bookkeeper

Every business owner should be able to quickly and easily access their company’s financial information. Without that ability, it is easy to make mistakes and miss opportunities. Our bookkeepers help businesses organize and manage their accounts so that an accurate financial picture is always within reach.

Bookkeeper

Are you the Marie Kondo of numbers? One of the reasons our clients struggle with their financial records is that they do not know what is essential. As a bookkeeper, you will prepare and examine financial records for our clients. You will also teach them the documents they need to keep and help streamline the process. You need to be an organizational wizard, a teacher, and great with numbers.

Responsibilities:

Obtain primary financial data for accounting records
Compute and record numerical data
Check the accuracy of business transactions
Perform data entry and administrative duties

Qualifications:

Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong organizational skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Prior experience in a CPA firm is preferred but not required

Tax Associate

Have you ever wanted to unleash your inner Sherlock Holmes? As a tax associate at Stander & Company, you will do that. Go beyond basic tax prep and learn more about your clients to help them maximize short-term and long-term financial goals through intelligent tax preparation.

You will help prepare income taxes for individuals and companies. Precision, accuracy, and timeliness are your three top skills. You must be able to identify potential tax credits and liabilities, follow legislation and regulations, and look at the big picture.

Responsibilities:

Compute taxes owed by following the tax code
Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses
Help taxpayers by using their federal, state, and local codes
Ensure that clients receive the maximum benefit permitted under those laws
Uncover potential deductions and credits
Advise against potential tax liabilities
Ensure clients do not pay unnecessary taxes
Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures
Interview clients to get a thorough picture of their financial situation
Verify totals on past forms for accuracy
Calculate and invoice for form preparation fees
Consult tax law handbooks for complex tax returns
Resolve customer complaints
Recommend additional products and services
Prepare tax returns using electronic filing software
Provide a copy of the completed return to the customer
